Meet Tian Xia!
Tian Xia is a new PhD student in Dr. Herek Clack’s Lab. Hailing from Beijing, China he earned his undergraduate degree at Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2013, majoring in Environment and Sustainable Development. During that time, he gained an interest in air quality engineering and applied to the University of Michigan to work with Dr. Clack. As a first-year student, he is focusing on his coursework, as well as preparing to begin research. He is involved in the experiments to determining the optical property and aggregation behavior of powdered activated carbon (PAC) and fly ash in electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) during the Mercury capture process. He is also learning to use COMSOL© Multiphysics for future modelling work.
